Biography
The rise of Modus Kraken began in late November of 2018 when Baviera a.k.a. Brujo randomly stumbled across YouTube recommendations related to sound modulation and synthesis. This was not a field of expertise at the time since his music production career had strictly been achieved throughout DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) format only. However, curiosity got the best of him during a sabbatical break he took from the music scene despite laying at the pinnacle of his music career at the time.
Soon he began to fantasize with the idea of producing music using instrumental gear instead of a computer with a DAW and plugins. A couple of weeks away from Black Friday, he decided to make his picks for the first pieces of gear to buy to start experimenting with. The following month, not only did he get what he first puchased, he kept saving cash to buy more new equipment throughout the entire year of 2019 which he in fact did.
The learning process with all new gear was rough with no doubt, yet over time he began to master his skills. He felt inspired as he progressively met his expectations, since the odds of failure seemed very possible due to the high level of complexity involved. Now he is a musician who passionately craves sound design via tangible instrumental gear.
Similar to his early days playing guitar with metal bands, his concentration now focuses on an instrument. However, instead of dealing with just one and perfecting the art of playing it, he now uses multiple instruments to create music. As a guitar player, he would depend on the rest of his band members to complete actual song compositions. Now he is a one-man-band simultaneously using multiple instruments to craft heavy duty basslines, mind blowing leads and twisted effects that possess human souls.

No matter where the timeline of Baviera’s music career focuses on, great memories and memorable achievements remain forever in the hearts of young Costa Rican crowds from all over the country.
The leap to the electronic music scene was by the end of 2010 when his last band project “The Harlequin Portrait” came to an end. Months after he began exporing digital audio music production.
In 2012 Baviera returned to the music scene under the solo artist name “Salem Witch Switch”.

His first electronic music project was classified as dubstep music which later transformed into a mesh of dubstep with psytrance, aggrotech and industrial music.
The beginning was a slow start yet after evolving into an unorthodox heavy hybrid genre, the project finally hit success. In 2014, music / nightlife entertainment promoter Emiliano Sanchez offered partnership support.
The promoter’s business brand “Shuffle and Play” was a solid platform organizing dark themed musical events. A perfect match for the “Salem Witch Switch” project which resulted as a win-win situation for both parties.
Baviera reached the top of his career but at the cost of overshadowing his private life. After a decade of active performances in various musical formats, he took an ever so long break from it all to organize his life and reinvent himself.

Family, friends and followers figured he’d pick up where he last left off, but no, Baviera moved on to a new chapter and the year 2020 marks the dawn of the Modus Kraken era.
